The NAHEMI National Student Film Awards is the annual celebration of the very best student filmmaking across the nation. NAHEMI presents annual national awards for Best Overall Student Film, Best Undergraduate Student Film, Factual Film, Cinematography, Sound, Editing, Creativity, Animation, Performance, Story, Design. Each NAHEMI member institution may submit a total of 20 minutes worth of films for consideration, with a maximum of three films per submitting body. The event is held at the end of the calendar year and recognises all films made by students in the previous calendar year.
