Our Annual Talking Shop brings together Higher Education, Film and Media specialists from across the UK in an open and friendly forum. With a rich programme of presentations and discussion, and as an opportunity for networking and sharing good practice, this annual event has become a valuable date in the academic calendar.

Members who would also like to attend the AGM are welcome to come along.

Programme For the Day

Themes

Our call for proposals is still open! We invite proposals for 15-20-minute presentations, Pecha Kucha, a panel, or other forms of presentation, on the following themes:

  • Teaching Craft Skills

  • Teaching Sound

  • Teaching Screenwriting

  • Changing Pedagogy: how do we adapt to cohorts of students who now have a substantial knowledge of filmmaking?

  • Teaching new forms of filmmaking such as non-linear production, VR, creating content for websites and social media platforms.

  • Preparing students for a world after Education: teaching networking, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Collaboration: students working together, working with external organisations, and staff collaboration.

  • The lasting impact of lockdown on students, staff and institutions.

  • Research / Practice Research Projects

As well as your in- person presentation we would also like to publish your paper on the NAHEMI website.
