Nahemi

NAHEMI will present the Best of UK & Ireland Student Films Programme at the 16th Encounters International Film Festival due to take place in Bristol from 16-21 November 2010. This year sees the return of Animated Encounters and of Brief Encounters as the long-established two main competitive strands at the Festival.

In 2009 over 150 films were screened in competition over 5 days to over 500 delegates and 6,500 audience members. The films and animations were a selection of the best new drama, comedies, music videos, documentaries and animation from 58 countries.

Every year NAHEMI presents two prestigious short film awards at Brief Encounters in partnership with Kodak:

2009 Winners:

NAHEMI / KODAK Prize for Creative Film-making: JOINT WINNERS Cherry on the Cake directed/animated by Hyebin Lee from the National Film and Television School, and Conversation, directed by Laure Fernandez from the University of the West of England

KODAK/NAHEMI/Cinematography Award: Two to Salsa, Cinematographer: Lara Vilanova from the London Film School
